Julia Martin is a UKCP Registered Gestalt Psychotherapist & Supervisor (Humanistic and Integrative College).

Julia has worked with WPP / WPI since 2010 as a tutor on the Advanced Diploma in Relational Centred Counselling and as a tutor on the P.G.

Diploma In Psychotherapy Course, with particular responsibility for the year 2 & 3 Gestalt programme since 2015. Julia has recently stepped back from being Gestalt programme leader and is now in the role of support tutor across all years particularly year 4.

Julia originally trained as a Registered Nurse and became a Ward Sister early in her career. She subsequently attained a BA Hons in Archaeology from Cardiff University before spending 15 years working in the voluntary sector in the field of domestic abuse. It was this experience which led to her completing a P.G. Diploma in Integrative Counselling alongside a PGCE and some years later the P.G. Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy.

Julia became a lecturer and counsellor at Bridgend College, heading up the counselling department for many years and as lead lecturer on the counselling foundation degree. She also taught modules on the Diploma in Social Work as well as on many other health and care related courses.

Julia passed the threshold for teaching excellence shortly before joining the team at WPI.
